At Wooded Hamlet Designs, we are dedicated to bringing you the finest quality historic reproductions available.
In 1991 our business was started from a deep interest in reenacting life in the 18th century. In recreating authentic costumes of that period, we observed a need for natural fiber ribbons and trims. At that time fabrics of wool and linen were readily available, but not the accurate trims with which to embellish them. We felt that we could develop a line of period woven tapes. To reach this goal we researched, traveled and examined the costumes and accoutrements of yesteryear. Over the years we have evolved from furnishing re-enactors to encompassing the needs of a wide range of living history enthusiasts, including museum curators, antiques restorers, upholsterers, and film costumers. Today we are able to make available a unique selection of these materials.
