The brigantine St. Lawrence II offers exciting tall ship sailing adventures for boys and girls aged 13 to 18. Teenagers work as part of the ship’s crew on cruises ranging from 6 to 11 days in length. No sailing experience whatsoever is necessary!

The purpose of the St. Lawrence II is not merely to teach sailing skills, but to provide adventure, challenge, and teamwork experience. Living and working aboard a traditionally rigged ship is an excellent environment for the development of self-reliance, self-esteem, and responsibility in young people.

A shipboard routine is like no other. All crewmembers take turns standing watch, steering the ship, or handling the massive sails. There’s maintenance, meal preparation, and clean up to help with, plus time for recreational swims and friendly competitions. We provide on-the-job-instruction in piloting and seamanship to sharpen crew skills.
