just visited your site and was impressed that you reenact famous
battles fought by the Regiment. A member of the band is a great
historian about the regiment and if you wish I can put you in contact
with him. The regiment fought in the wars of 1812 and in Gallopli,
France at Beaumont Hamel and if you visit Veterans Affairs web site
they have an excellent web site on the actions of the Regiment in
France in world war 1. Best wishes on the site and greetings from the

HiFirstly I'd like to welcome anyone to my Welsh Regiment site. I've
made contact with the Re-enactment Society in Ontario who specialise in
the battle for Detroit and so on.I'm interested in your Regiment
because someone descended from the Burslems, as does my wife, reckons
that she had spotted either Wilougby James Burslem (bapt c1753) or his
brother William Marshall Burslem (bapt c 1755) as being in the
Newfoundland Regiment. ANy chance of vectoring me towards any sources
that might help me check the veracity of the statement please? It seems
that the 17th Welsh and the 18th welsh who fought so valiantly at
Bourlon Wood in the battle of Cambrai (Nov 1917) may have fought
alongside you regiment. There is some information on Bourlon Wood on my
site. Finally, may I congratulate you on a splendid site. |

drowned in a canoe accident near Prairie du Chien, Wis., several months
after the capture of the fort there. |

I was reading the history of your organization and it was interesting
but I think you made a mistake when it came to the RNR participating in
world war two. To my knowledge King George told Newfoundland that they
didnt need to send troops because of the vast sacrifice of world war
one where the regiment lost over 75% of its troops at Beaumont Hammel.
but other than this slight mistake your web site is nice and
informative. |

Your page is very informative. I liked your information about your
attire and especially appreciate your calendar of events. That was what
i was looking for (for Ontario). I am a costumemaker and want to attend
some historical events as I am becoming more interested in this as a
hobby for myself. Thanks for a great web page. Cherie |

Wow - glad to find your site. I live in Midland and have enjoyed your
group's displays many times - especially at the battle of Georgian Bay
- it was great! My niece and I have also helped out one Christmas at
Discovery Harbour Christmas on The Bay. Glad I found this site. Look
forward to seeing you soon - most likely on Canada Day in Midland. Bye
for now. |

From Newfoundland and just doing a search on the Royal Newfoundland
Regiment, so many things to learn! Newfoundland is indeed rich in
history and you've done a great job informing us about another era
related to our province and people. Thank you. ...Please check out this
website and leave a message for an older gentleman, he would appreciate
it. http://www.geocities.com/bellisland_nfld_1942/index.html |

Hello again. I have a question regarding your calendar of events. The
event on May 13 at Willow Creek. Where is Willow Creek and what or who
is the Fort Willow Improvement Group? Also if I may ask, is the Upper
Canada Rendezvous an 1812 event or a Buckskinner/Voyageur type of
event? Thank you very much. Be seeing you. |

Greetings again. I have now been dragged kicking and screaming into the
21st century. I am connected. I have made my son's teacher aware of
your site since the curriculum includes the War of 1812 this year. I
have also given your site to other teachers I know so you can expect
some more visitors soon. See you at Longwoods in May. |

I thought I would drop by again to see what is new. This Internet thing
is new to me and I am enjoying it quite a bit. I did not realize how
much reenactment is going on out there. The American Civil War
reenactment has always been a given but I have found so much just
surfung around it is almost overwhelming. Anyway Spring Training at
Backus is coming up and we shall see you on the field before long. |

To whom it may concern,Your webpage concerning the re-enactments of the
RNR in the War of 1812 is excellent. I am currently writing a
university paper on the role of Newfoundlanders in the War of 1812, and
your Milestones and Engagements section provided me a very valuable
resource for my paper. Thank you, and keep up the good work!Ric

Scottish bagpipes) from Ontario appeared at our Canada Day celebrations
at the Confederation Building in St.John's. Was appreciated by all who
attended. Project we discussed is awaiting word from backers in the
